Downtown accounting firm, Wall, Einhorn & Chernitzer, P.C. (WEC), is happy to announce that John Waters, Senior Accounting & Auditing Manager, has been selected to receive the 2020 Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA) Top 5 Under 35 Award. This award recognizes VSCPA members who have shown excellence in their profession, their contribution to the community, including VSCPA chapter involvement or professional achievements.

A graduate of Old Dominion University, where he received his bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in accounting, Waters joined the WEC family in 2009. As an accomplished CPA, Waters specializes in attestation and compliance audit engagements, focusing on real estate projects and not-for-profit organizations in the fields of education, health and welfare, cultural and arts, member organizations, museum and tourist attractions, and foundations.

Waters received the Virginia Business “Super CPA” award and is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Educational Foundation and the United Way of South Hampton Roads Young Philanthropists.
Waters will be presented with the award at the 2020 Virginia CPA Honors & Awards Event that is slated to be held at the Science Museum of Virginia in Richmond.
