WEC is pleased to announce Kevin Phelps has been awarded the 2013 Wall, Einhorn & Chernitzer Scholarship through the Virginia Society of Ceritified Public Accountants. Each year, juniors, seniors, and "fifth-year" students attending Old Dominion University, University of Virginia, The College of William & Mary, Virginia Tech or James Madison University are eligible for this scholarship, provided that they demonstrate a minimum overall and accounting GPA of 3.0 and also intend to take the CPA Exam.
Kevin is pursuing a bachelor's degree commerce (accounting and finance) from the University of Virginia with plans to graduate in May 2014. Kevin has a strong interest in pursuing a career in public accounting and is completing extra coursework to fulfill the 150-hour requirement for the CPA Exam. He is also a student member of the Virginia Society of CPAs, serves as an elementary school tutor and participates in a variety of intramural sports.
We are very excited to work with Kevin and help him reach his goals of pursuing an accounting career.
